Our benefit to reopen the Stone Lagoon Campground was a success! We expect it to reopen in Spring of 2014. Further funding will be needed to keep it open. Your tax-deductible donation can be made via PayPal to Explore North Coast.

Tip of the Month

Spring Aquatic Babies
It's that time of year paddlers! Please be extra careful along the edges of your local waterways. Our amphibian friends have laid egg clusters in the calm water areas of fresh and brackish waterways. From the surface it may look like algae (top photo). Underneath the surface magic is happening (bottom photo)! Salamanders and frogs have egg clusters in gelatinous clumps. Toads lay eggs in a gelatinous string (looks like tape with eggs. Mosquito eggs are in uniform blocks made of many rows. We're okay with the latter not hatching.
